Frequently Asked Questions

Here at FOR Energy, we are the Energy Pros you can trust to answer all of your most pressing questions and help you get started with solar. Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive when it comes to getting started with solar..

How Much Do Solar Panels Cost?

The short answer is it depends. We know, that’s not the straightforward answer you were hoping for, but the cost of outfitting any given home with solar panels can vary a lot. It depends on things like your family’s average energy usage, how ideally placed the solar panels are, and other individual factors.

Then there’s the matter of tax incentives and credits. Here in Arizona, the state offers a 25% tax credit when you invest in solar, and there are federal credits you can apply for as well. At FOR Energy, our services include helping you maximize these benefits, and we’ll help you get the credits you deserve. There are also solar financing programs you can take advantage of to reduce or eliminate your upfront costs of going solar. Remember, once you make the switch, your solar panels will quickly start paying for themselves, too!

Can Solar Panels Power My Entire Home?

It’s certainly possible, but it will depend on your energy consumption and how many solar panels are needed. You’ll need a sufficient number of solar panels to generate power depending on your energy consumption, which means you’ll also need adequate space on your roof.

What’s the Return on Investment for Solar Panels?

On average, it’s estimated that your solar panels will pay for themselves in about nine to 12 years. Again, your energy consumption, current utility costs, the effectiveness of your solar panels, and other factors will determine how quickly you’ll see a return on your investment in solar panels. Of course, the financial ROI is just one dimension of solar. There’s also the fact that you’re investing in sustainable energy and helping the environment as well, and those factors have immeasurable value.

How Many Solar Panels Do I Need?

To power a full home, many experts estimate that about 20 to 25 solar panels are needed. Again, this depends on the size of your home, your energy consumption, the efficiency of your solar panels, and so many other technical details. The best way to find out how many solar panels you’ll need for your unique circumstances is to consult with a solar company. (That’s us!) We can do a thorough review of your energy consumption, determine where to place solar panels on your home, and provide you with an estimate on the number of solar panels and overall cost you can expect from the project.
